Chess

Our production in November 2001 was CHESS which is a fantastic show combining some extremely clever lyrics from Sir Tim Rice (Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita etc) with the amazing musical talents of Benny Anderrsen and Bjorn Ulvaeus (formerly of ABBA). 

The show involves an interesting and often haunting fusion of political intrigue, romantic involvement and a story of competition and betrayal at both a personal and professional level as we see two World Class chess champions representing the U.S. and USSR against the backdrop of the Cold War exposing rivalry between the players at every level. 

As if that wasn’t complicated enough they share an interest in the same woman…………………

This show includes some amazing songs which at the time of the shows original production in 1985 became chart hits for Elaine Paige and Barbara Dickson (I know him so well, number 1 in the UK for 4 weeks) and Murray Head (One night in Bangkok, number 9 in the U.S. and number 12 in the U.K.)

I took some photo's during Chess (some were taken while on stage) and I have added the better ones here. Most of the photos were very poor but I may add them at a later date if I can adequately enhance them. If anyone has any good Chess photos, please send them to me and I'll put them online.
