Minerva Youth Theatre

Minerva Youth Theatre were formed 37 years ago in 1971 when they performed Wizard of Oz. Since then Minerva Youth Theatre has continued to grow and we now have around 60 boys and girls in each performance.

We rehearse on Sundays from 2.00pm till 4.00pm from August till February and then perform a musical production at a Glasgow Theatre each year.

Membership of Minerva Youth Theatre is open to anyone aged 9-17 and is achieved by audition. Auditions are held after rehearsals each Sunday from August till November.
If you wish to audition you should come to the rehearsal beforehand so that you can see what we do and whether you like what you see before auditioning.

MYT change of rehearsal venue.

Due to conflicting rehearsal schedules where Minerva Clubrooms at 59 Burnbank Terrace will be in use for rehearsals for the adult production of Annie on most Sundays, the MYT team have decided to change our rehearsal venue to Wardlaw Hill Halls on Hamilton Rd, Rutherglen.

In addition to the scheduling conflict there are plans to refurbish the rehearsal rooms at Burnbank Terrace and while this work is under way we would prefer not to have the children there.

The new venue will be available to us for the whole rehearsal period and while we understand that the move to the new location may be something of an inconvenience, it is in fact very accessible from most areas. Click here for a map.

MYT members should be aware that the impending production of Annie from Minerva Club (seniors) will not be run by Minerva Youth Theatre and since the rehearsals for Annie will probably conflict with rehearsals for MYT's South Pacific it is possible that members will be unable to be in both shows.

Our next show is South Pacific and will take place in February 2009.

With 38 named parts as well as chorus parts we expect to have a very full line up and plenty for everyone to do.
